Optional automatic ice maker.. .
If you have the automatrc Ice maker accessory or
plan to add one later [Part No. ECKMF-83). there are a
few things you will want to know:

The ON /OFF lever IS a wire signal arm.
Down .for making ice outomatrcally.
Up...to shut off the Ice maker.
l
Shake the brn occasIonally to keep cubes sepa-
rated, and to obtarn Increased storage capacity

Raise Signal
Arm to Start It.
Arm to Stop Ice Maker.
l
It IS normal for Ice crescents to be attached bv a
corner They \NI/I break apart easily
Sounds you may hear...
To remove ice:
1 Hold tray at both ends.
2. Slightly twrst.
l
You WI/I hear water runnrng when Ice maker IS
workrng You’ll hear ice fall Into the bin. Don’t let
these sounds bother you.

The Ice maker will not operate until the freezer
cold enough to make ice. Thus can take
overnrgnr.
l
Because of new plumbrng connectrons, the first
Ice may be discolored or off-flavored. Discard the
frrst few batches of Ice.

If ice

not being made fast enough and more Ice
IS needed, turn the Refrigerator Control toward a
higher number Wart a day and, If necessary, turn
the Freezer Control toward A.
l
If you remove the ice brn. raise the signal arm to
shut off the Ice maker. When you return the brn,
push It all the way In and lower the arm to the ON
position.
. Good water qualrty IS Important for good ice quality

not recommended that the ice maker be con-
nected to a softened water supply Water softener
chemicals such as salt from a malfunctioning sofi-
ener can damage the ice maker mold and lead to
poor quality Ice If a softened water supply cannot
be avoided. then it IS Important that the water soft-
ener be well maIntaIned and operating properly
